CCKM responded to a provincial Book Gift Program that
promotes family reading. Does parental reading enhance
literacy of children with autism? In
partnership with the students and staff of
Research
Works! for child literacy,
CCKM conducted an exhaustive search of the research
literature on literacy and autism. Thirty-seven citations
were provided to the Program staff. The four studies
that specifically addressed parental reading to children
with autism were SPOTLIGHTED.
